Prof. Yongmei Zheng
Yongmei Zheng, PhD, is a professor at School of Chemistry, Beihang University. Research interests are focused on bioinspired surfaces with gradient micro- and nanostructures to control dynamic wettability, which develop the surfaces with characteristics of water repellency, anti-icing, anti-frosting, or tiny droplet transport, fog-harvesting and so on. Publications are more than 100 SCI papers included in Nature, Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., ACS Nano, Small, Chem. Mater., J. Mater. Chem. A, etc., with 14 Cover stories, and two books: “Bioinspired wettability surfaces: Development in micro- and nanostructures” by Pan Standard Publishing, in 2015 and “Bioinspired design of materials surfaces” by Elsevier, in 2019. Her work was highlight as scientist on News of Royal Society of Chemistry, ChemistryWorld in 2014. She is a senior member of Chinese Composite Materials Society (CSCM), member of Chinese Chemistry Society (CCS), American Chemistry Society (ACS), Fellow member of NANOSMAT Society, International Society of Bionic Engineering (ISBE), International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), and Editorial board member of Scientific Report in nature. She won an ISBE outstanding contribution award in 2016 in the field of bionic engineering, and also an IAAM award Medal in 2016 due to the notable and outstanding contribution in field of “Advanced Materials Science and Technology”.
